Perfect! I was just looking at the velvet dresses (purple and blue) on Dorothy Perkins. I would love a rich emerald velvet skirt. And also lol do you remember in "Coming to America" when that man says "Beautiful! What is that, velvet?" lol I think of this every time I touch velvet.

I love this, especially the GREY, which is this hot color, but surprisingly difficult to find. I appreciate your attitude - I love the "bodycon" fit - you looked curvy, which is supposed to be the point. I would definitely wear this dress, though it would be hard to look as fab as you.

Just to show how behind the times I am, I never thought to wear velvet as an adult. Last time I wore a velvet dress was when I was 12 but it was my fav dress so maybe that's sayin somethin! Time to try new things, lol. Anyways - you look great! =)

thanks! The main one that I thrift at is the Value Village in Hyattsville. Its organized and clean. You also have places like Annie Creamcheese for designer vintage and accessories. I also attend flea markets, I used to go to the one that in the parking lots of RFK stadium a lot but I haven't been recently. I just found out about ReRun, a new shop that opened literally down the street from me in Takoma Park (http://rerunvintage.com) so I'm going to check that out.
